Each education experience is solidly based on “academics of the right sort,” —
“observation, invention, study, and original thought.” (Science and Health  195:19)

Intro     —  What Every Christian Scientist Should Know About Christian Science Nursing — A six-day retreat
Members of the Christian Science community join with Christian Science nurse trainees to explore Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan and the Church Manual by-law for the Christian Science nurse. With our Pastor as the foundation, attendees sing, laugh, pray, have fun, and share principles and practical tips which enable them to demonstrate how nursing themselves and each other fulfills their duty to God, our Leader, and to mankind.

I   —  Basic Christian Science Nursing
Begins with the retreat-style Intro class described above;  Principles and care options of giving assistive care through light bed care; care of the environment; nourishment; communication;
includes opportunities to minister to residents; basic cleansing and covering for wounds and introduction to sudden needs care.

II   —  Intermediate Christian Science Nursing
Review and deepening study of the support care principles and care options, care in bed, cleansing and       covering and sudden needs care; care for those individuals with special or mental needs, in a                facility or at home; deepening of leadership and communication ethics and skills.

III  —  Advanced Christian Science Nursing
Review of skills and deepening study of the principles and care options of leadership and mentoring;
of giving care to those with wounds or experiencing sudden needs in a facility or non-facility setting;        Intro to Christian Science nursing at camp and care of children.

III+      —  Christian Science Nursing at Camp and caring for children, teens and adults with immediate care      needs; an eleven-day on-site course (workshop and on-the-job-training) at The Cedars in Lebanon, Missouri.

IV      —  Leadership & Communication; instruction; grand review of Christian Science nursing ethics & skills.
