  • The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was passed in 1996. This Act protects the personal, health and financial information of patients. We are required to keep this information private by utilizing precautions and policies that prohibit the release or transmission of patient information to unauthorized sources.

    Glenmont’s HIPAA policy protects the rights of every patient or resident at Glenmont (Protected Health Information) as HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL;  information is to be used only to aid in providing specific healthcare services to the specified patient.  Any other use is a violation of Federal Law (HIPAA) and will be reported as such.
