Field Training Opportunities
Our Field Training opportunities are offered in conjunction with Christian Science Nurse Connections. Courses take place at a villa dedicated to Christian Science nurses’ education in Laguna Hills, CA and can be scheduled to meet the needs of the students attending. Classes Include
Glenmont offers introductory courses and multi-level training in The Healing Ministry of Christian Science Nursing, designed to support students at different stages of learning and commitment.

Every Day, Loving - What Every Christian Scientist Needs to Know About Christian Science Nursing
Duration: 5 days
Suggested Donation: $400-$500 (helps to cover the instructor’s time, lunch, class-book, and supplies)This retreat is open to all serious students of Christian Science.
Members of the Christian Science community join with Christian Science nursing students to explore Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan and the Church Manual By-Law, “Christian Science Nurse.”
With the Christian Science Pastor as our foundation, attendees learn Christian Science nursing standards and practical tips that aid us in fulfilling our duty to our neighbor.
This course is both:
A stand-alone learning opportunity
An anchor course to Intro B and The Healing Ministry of Christian Science Nursing courses, Levels I–III

Duration: 3–5 days
Cost: $100 per dayThis is an add-on course that follows Intro A. It goes deeper into the ethics, standards, requirements, and care options of companioning care. Includes the business aspects of being a self-employed contractor.

Levels I and II are combined and taught concurrently, with:
18 weeks of classroom instruction
Mentoring following completion of Level II classroom instruction
Each level builds on the previous instruction and prepares students for progressive responsibility in Christian Science nursing care.

Duration: 8-week course
Cost: $3,000This course begins with the 5-day Retreat (Intro A).
Students learn:
Standards, skills, and care options of assistive care and light bed care
Care of the patient’s environment
Nourishment
Communication
Mentoring follows Level II classroom instruction.

Duration: 8-week course
Cost: $3,000This level includes a review and deepening of:
Ethics
Communication
Mobility
Assessment skills
Students receive training in:
Giving care in a bed or a chair
Intermediate cleansing, covering, and bandaging
Support for those experiencing immediate care needs
Mental needs support

Duration: 6-week course (1 week online and 5 weeks in person)
Cost: $3,000This course is usually a one-on-one and includes a review of ethics and skills presented in Levels I and II and combines classroom instruction with mentoring.
Training includes:
Comprehensive care for those with wounds
Care for those experiencing mental needs and immediate care needs
An introduction to giving care to children
Enrichment of communication and assessment skills

Courses and fees do not include facility mentoring.
All courses require appropriate mentoring for completion.
