Classes Include:
Intro A - Retreat Into the Healing Ministry of Christian Science Nursing: What Every Christian Scientist Should Know About Christian Science Nursing 5 Days $300
Open to all serious students of Christian Science. Financial assistance may be available.
Members of the Christian Science community join with Christian Science nursing students to explore Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan and the Church Manual By-Law, “Christian Science Nurse.”
With the Pastor as the foundation, attendees learn Christian Science nursing standards and practical tips for supporting others and for preparing light nourishments.
This course is a stand-alone learning opportunity as well as an anchor for the Christian Science Care-giver course and The Healing Ministry of Christian Science Nursing courses, Levels I-III.
Intro B - Christian Science Care-giver 3-5 Days $150 (Offered in California)
Add-on course that goes deeper into the ethics, standards, requirements, and care options of simple home care. Follows Intro A (detailed above).
Levels I & II are combined and taught concurrently (18 weeks classroom + mentoring)
Basic - The Healing Ministry of Christian Science Nursing - Level I 9 Week Course $3,000
This course begins with the 5-day Retreat (described above as Intro A). Students learn standards, skills, and care options of assistive care and light bed care; care of patient’s environment; nourishment; communication. Mentoring will follow Level II classroom instruction.
Intermediate - The Healing Ministry of Christian Science Nursing II 9 Week Course $3,000
A review and deepening of ethics, communication, mobility, and assessment skills; giving care in a bed or a chair; intermediate cleansing, covering, & bandaging; support for those experiencing immediate care needs; mental needs support.
Advanced - The Healing Ministry of Christian Science Nursing III 10 Month Course $3,000
This course of training includes a review of the ethics and skills already presented in Levels I and II and is a combination of classroom and mentoring instruction. It includes comprehensive training in giving care to those with wounds and to those experiencing mental needs and immediate care needs; an introduction on giving care to children; enrichment for communication and assessment skills.
Level III (including classroom and mentoring) is the pre-requisite for Level IV, taught in-person in Ohio.
Level IV is taught only at the Ohio campus.
Each course must be followed by an appropriate period of mentoring.
California classroom courses (& fees) do not include facility mentoring.
